Patty Lyons

At Media Volery, I ghostwrote for knitting teacher, Patty Lyons. It was one of my dreams as a writer to create content for someone who shares the same passion(s) with or a company that shares similar values. I am a fiber artist (part-time) as well.

I had to put myself in Patty’s shoes by familiarizing myself with not only herself but also her audience and knitting. I wrote articles that drove her audience to visit her website and increase sales for her patterns and KALs (knit-alongs).

Role: Copywriting and Social Media Intern at Media Volery

The client came across a New York Times article that highlighted knitting benefits and the types of knitters and wanted a blog post inspired by it.

My task included the following:

  1. Read the NYT article (Research)

  2. Gather Patty’s patterns (Sources)

  3. Write (Brainstorm, Write Rewrite, etc.)

  4. Upload and Publish!

The client wanted a blog based on her travels. which has inspired her to name some of her designs off of places she's visited.

Task: I had to discover a creative way to tell by conte // find a way to tell a story/ inspiration by some of her favorite tops.

Here’s a peek at the article!
